Badging:

Since this meeting is being held in a NASA facility, all meeting attendees will be registered with the NASA Ames security office.  Foreign Nationals will be required to fill in a security form for registration.  If you are a Foreign National, please provide requested information on registration pages of Workshop website.

Meals:

There will be an opportunity to purchase an assortment of sandwiches/chips/drinks for lunch on both Saturday and Sunday at a reasonable cost. Government ethics rules do not permit us to offer these items free.

Saturday evening dinner:

We are arranging a dinner at the Chef Chu's in Mountain View for ~7:15 PM on Saturday, October 24th. This is an excellent Chinese restaurant located about 20 minutes driving time from Ames. Approximate cost will be about $20-$25 with alcoholic drinks extra. There will be a sign up sheet at the meeting. Partners are welcome to attend as well.

Location:

The workshop is being held in the ballroom of the NASA Ames Conference Center (also known as Building 3). It is located a short 1 block walk from the NASA Exchange Lodge in Bldg 19. Maps are available at the main gate (and enclosed). Building 3 is adjacent to Hangar 1 (the large blimp hangar which you will see directly in front of you as you enter the main gate on Moffett Blvd). This is one of the more interesting landmarks in the Bay Area. Pictures are permitted.

Access through main gate:

All access on weekends is through the main gate on Moffett Blvd. U.S. Citizens must show a valid picture identification card such as a U.S. Driver's License- tell the guard that you are attending a workshop at the Conference Center. (If you are arriving by taxi or limo, the driver must have a valid U.S. License)

Lodging:

Lodging is still available Êat the NASA lodge- This is very convenient (easy walking distance to the conference site), reasonably nice, (a few rooms are available in Building 19 on Friday and Saturday for $55 per night) and rooms in Bldg. 583 are only $45 dollars per night. Check in is in Building 19. Call 650-603-7100 to reserve/guarantee your room with your credit card.
